It’s looking a little better

Warning: Baseball fan geeking out.

Big win tonight! The Sox won tonight 8-2. Even better, as Cleveland loses. The magic number is 2 and Chicago has a three game lead over Cleveland with four to play. The South Siders wrap up against Detroit tomorrow afternoon. The less than fashionable albatross necklace may be around Cleveland’s neck now, as the pressure mounts for them. The tribe must win three of their reaming four games to win the division and I’m sure they’ll be keeping an eye on the Fenway feed over the weekend.

The race in the AL East is intriguing as New York is winning and Boston is losing as I write this. A New York loss and a Boston loss tonight would have guaranteed the White Sox at least a wildcard spot in the playoffs. Damn, NY just won.

In a scheduling boon for MLB we have Chicago at Cleveland and New York at Boston to end the season. Three of the four will be playing next week and they all "control their own destiny.
In the debacle that is the National League West, we may have a team in the playoffs with a losing record.
