Babbling Brooks
Is there any public thinker who merits more derision than David Brooks, one half of the conservative tag-team on the New York Times op-ed page? From his half-baked, quasi-sociological books like Bobos in Paradise and On Paradise Drive to his columns in the Times, he's always good for some slight drollery, would-be catchphrases, and oversimplified categories - as well as a good dose of oh-so-reasonable conservatism.
The answer to this question is "no," and the derision comes via McSweeney's: "David Brooks Also Eats Cereal." Good stuff, and 99% as serious a look at American political culture as anything Davy's written in the last ten years.
