Customer Service, Cheney-style
Looks like the Brits have been taking a page from our humble VP's book of etiquette. The LA Times reports:
Customers of British cable TV firm NTL were subjected to a barrage of profanity after someone changed the company's answering service message.
The Sun newspaper reported that customers who called to report a fault with their service were told: "You are through to NTL customer services. We don't give a [expletive] about you. We are never here. We just [expletive] you about, basically, and we are not going to handle any of your complaints. Just [expletive] off and leave us alone."
The Sun said the message was later changed and that an NTL spokesman had apologized.
Frankly, I don't think they should have changed it. It's a brave new world, baby! You want corporate responsibility? Go f*** yourself!
