Don't Mess with Texas?

So much for the Connecticut Cowboy's cred at home: his hometown paper, the Lone Star *Iconoclast* in Crawford, has endorsed good old John Kerry for president and "criticized Bush's handling of the war in Iraq and for turning budget surpluses into record deficits. The editorial also criticized Bush's proposals on Social Security and Medicare." The paper went for Bush in 2000, so it's not like the paper's a front for the communists or the terrorists or something. Amusingly, the paper's publisher says that while he sends a copy to the Western White House every week, "I don't know if he reads it." Seems unlikely, since the man brags about not reading the big city papers, but who knows - maybe the *Iconoclast* has excellent coverage of brush-cutting activities in the Crawford metroplex. Anyhow, I think the paper oughta expect some very close scrutiny by the Department of Justice and the IRS any minute now.
