Not Ironic So Much as Weird

So, I'm sitting on the sofa watching the Vikings-Eagles game (pleasepleaseplease let the Vikes pull this one out!) and we're going into the third quarter, and, um ... Alanis Morrissette brings us into the game. Like, it starts out with her on guitar and then morphs into this seriously weird montage of Alanis interspersed with scantily clad cheerleaders and hulking linebackers. Who the hell thought up that winning combo? Exactly what demographic are we trying to appeal to here? Lilith Fair treehuggers who are also beer-guzzling NFL fans? I mean, sure, that's a group that includes me, but I can't imagine it's a huge subsection of the Monday Night Football audience. What gives?
