Fake it till you make it, Mr. President

Tom Tomorrow's This Modern World blog has a good look at the controversy over whether Bush was receiving offstage help via an earpiece during the last debate. We know Kerry bugged him, but on the photographic evidence (which is thin, I think) and the weirdness of Bush's "Let me finish!" outburst, it seems likely that Bush was bugged in the electronic sense, too. No word on whether the lines were coming from backstage or Cheney's undisclosed location or heaven or wherever. What's that old saying? "Cheat me once, shame on--shame on me. Cheat me--you can't get cheated again." Anyhow, when is someone going to investigate whether Mrs. Bush avails herself of electrical means to, you know, relieve muscle tension?
