Friday Poetry Blogging: New Year's Eve Edition
Well, this is it, kids: the end of 2004. Personally, I'm ready for this year to be the hell over, but whether your past 12 months were awesome or awful, here's hoping that Year 2005 is a good one. Here's a little Ogden Nash to see the old year out.
A Drink With Something In It, by Ogden Nash
There is something about a Martini,
A tingle remarkably pleasant;
A yellow, a mellow Martini;
I wish I had one at present.
There is something about a Martini,
Ere the dining and dancing begin,
And to tell you the truth,
It is not the vermouth -
I think that perhaps it's the gin.
