Friday Poetry Blogging

This time of year I have a tendency to revert to childhood pleasures and traditions. One of the things I loved most, growing up, was being read aloud to by my parents. I didn't even learn how to read until I was 6 years old, because it was so much nicer being read to. And the read-aloud author par excellence for children is, of course, A. A. Milne. So what with that and the weather and all, I chose a Pooh poem for this Friday's blogging (my mom had a great tune for this one, sadly untransmittable to the blog).

Outdoor Hum for Snowy Weather
from A House at Pooh Corner by A. A. Milne

The more it
SNOWS-tiddely-pom,
The more it
GOES-tiddely-pom
The more it
GOES-tiddely-pom
On
Snowing
And nobody
KNOWS-tiddely-pom,
How cold my
TOES-tiddely-pom
How cold my
TOES-tiddely-pom
Are
Growing.
