What we do for fun

Just before Christmas, the Harris Poll released some interesting results from their Leisure Time Activities poll. The heartening news (at least for someone like me): Reading beat out TV-watching and going to the movies as the favorite leisure time activity. (The poll doesn't ask anything about what people are reading. It could be all Louis L'Amour, but I choose to believe it's Austen, Dickens, Joyce and Proust.) The disheartening news (again, for someone like me): Theatre is the least favorite leisure activity. Geez, sometimes it's like I spent 8 years in grad school and went deeply into debt for nothing.
