Against lynching? Not these GOPers!

Good news on the freedom front, everyone! Some Congressional Republicans will not officially condemn lynching! The following fine, fine 'Murricans would not sign on to the recently-passed bill formally apologizing to African-Americans for Congress' long refusal to consider lynching a special kind of hate crime:

  • Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.)
  • Richard Shelby (R-Ala.)
  • Mel Martinez (R-Fl.)
  • Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.)
  • Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.)
  • Thad Cochran (R-Miss.)
  • Trent Lott (R-Miss.)
  • Elizabeth Dole (R-N.C.)
  • James Inhofe (R-Ok.)
  • Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.)
  • John Cornyn (R-Tx.)
  • Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Tx.)
  • John Warner (R-Va.)
Good men and women, all.
