Peeve of the Day ...

... use of the term "actionable" to mean "a thing to be acted upon." As in "The intent of the evaluation is to attain actionable items that can be changed/improved." NO IT FUCKING ISN'T.

People: it's a legal term. If something is actionable, it means someone can take legal action against someone else about it. For example, "Elise wishes that corporate-spawned faux jargon were an actionable offense."

OK? Are we good? Great.
