Banned Books 'R' Kewl

Hey! It's Banned Book Week! And me without my ballgown. But seriously, folks - this is the week to celebrate intellectual freedom and the right to read what we want, when we want, no matter how controversial or unpopular. The ALA website has lots of information on the week's activities; my favorite is the Challenged and Banned Books page, which contains a list of the top 10 most challenged books of 2004. Best entry? Maurice Sendak's In The Night Kitchen, a book I consider absolutely indispensable for producing a properly-brought-up child. So get out there, be a radical, read a banned book!
