Bomb Rita Back to the Stone Age
I find it disturbing that Bush is (was, by now, I guess, since he's no longer in danger of getting washed away) monitoring Hurricane Rita from a military base. I know it's the homeland security headquarters and all that, but still: I'm bothered by the reliance on military resources and personnel to manage this domestic crisis, and as always in the draft-dodger's attempt to wrap himself in the flag. As a historian, I can't think of any time when the line between civilian and military power has been blurred more improperly.
