HarperCollins photoshopped the cigarette out of the illustrator's hand for their 50th anniversary edition of the children's book Goodnight Moon.

More. As a regular reader of this book, I have to say this little trick is kind of annoying, in a watch-it-go-down-the-memory-hole kind of way. Clement Hurd was a pretty studly-looking children's book illustrator, so somehow the ciggy fit the image, even if it was a bit jarring to see a cigarette in a picture in the back of the book.
