That Stings

I think we finally have a good natural metaphor for the Religious Right's influence on America: the life cycle of the Ampulex compressa wasp. This little nasty uses two stings to turn a regular, disgusting cockroach into a zombie that then serves, after being led back to the wasp's lair, as food for a new, baby wasp which grows inside and hatches from the still-living (but for not long) cockroach.
