Hunt of the Orcas

Alison - this one's for you!

A group of Carleton alumni on a trip to Antarctica in January shot amazing video (QuickTime & RealPlayer - check the "official video" out too) of a pod of orcas hunting a lone seal on an ice floe. The video doesn't show the denouement you just know came to pass, but it does feature the whales bobbing out of the water to find the seal and then apparently swimming abreast to create a wave large enough to rock the seal off the ice. It's dreadful and gripping. Highly recommended for any National Geographic or natural history buffs or those seeking a new metaphor for getting W. off his ice floe.

(When was the last time your employer put video like this on the organization's website?)
