Tornadoes Hit Iowa City

I heard about this on NPR on my way into work this morning. I called my friend Noah who lives in Iowa City. He's in a PhD program there and his wife is a MD - PhD in residence at The University of Iowa Hospitals. They are fine. Frighteningly, they live less than a mile from where the tornado destroyed commercial buildings. Downtown Iowa City, which dovetails into the eastern part of the campus (and where all the liberal arts freaks, like me, would hang out) looks like a "war zone" according to Noah. He said that cars are turned over, windows are blown out of residential, commercial, and campus buildings.

The picture of the church, is the Catholic church where I would attend Easter services.

Good look and Godspeed to the Iowa City/UI community.
