So you're saying I should drive like my grandma?
No, I'm not dead, just a new mommy and you'd be astonished at how much time parenting can take away from blogging, at least in the first month. Anyhoo. I'm resurfacing to share the link to this inneresting li'l piece about how to conserve mileage with some easy tips that will take you right back to the Carter era, if you're old enough to remember those hallowed days of long lines at the gas pump and man-eating rabbits. Promising "hybrid-type savings" without having to buy a new car, the testers from edmunds.com go on to say:By changing your driving habits you can improve fuel economy up to 37 percent right away (depending on how you drive). Combine several tips and perform routine maintenance and you will save real dollars, not just pennies.
A miracle? All we did was take several of the most common tips out there and put them to the test over a remote 55-mile route in the high desert of California. Some of them worked like a charm. Some of them didn't work at all.
Check out the tips, with full explanations of each test. Worth a look before your next road trip. (Thanks to Chad for the link.)
