Fiona Survives First Road Trip & Exorcism

The family unit had its first road trip. We went to Illinois for my mother-in-law's retirement, Fiona's baptism, baptism party, and I went to the Sox 13-inning loss on Sunday. The picture above shows the before and after of baptism (aka demon exorcism). The power of Christ compels you.

Overall, it was a success and it was great to see friends and family. We put over 1000 miles on the van and have learned more about traveling with the wee one. (insert NBC's "the more you know shooting star graphic and sound fx). We also had a pit stop at an Olive Garden in Wisconsin. I used to scoff at the Olive Garden, now I view it as a family-friendly operation with a surprisingly pleasant lunch menu. Is this the first step down a slippery slope?

Pam told me about Taylor Hicks from American Idol and his "Soul Patrol" as it was depicted on SNL. Fiona's startle response, stretching, and inability to support her own head now have us yelling "Soul Patrol" when we're holding her. If you not familiar with the SNL bit, think about Belushi's Joe Cocker impersonation and you have a pretty good idea of what Fiona looks like when she's not sleeping. Please don't call family & social services.
