Rawr! Or Not

Maybe it's more appropriate for Halloween, but this piece by a U of Chicago biologist on the (lack of science) in monster movies is a nice complement to the current crop of horror movies. Skim the hard-core material at the beginning and get to the good stuff, like miniaturized humans' advantages (ability to fall without injury) and disadvantages (need to eat constantly), the all-but-impossibility of an agile King Kong, and the decent science in Jurassic Park and E.T.
