Movin' on Up

Warning: This post may kill hours of otherwise productive time.

My boss wandered by earlier to point out an email he'd just sent. The email included a link to an article in the New York Sun on Aleksey Vayner, a Yale student who, in applying for investment banking jobs, has circulated the world's most over-the-top video resume and achieve instant infamy on Wall Street - which is hard to do. (He was also my boss's son's first-year roommate at Yale, apparently.) Friends, learning more about this is worth your time.

The fullest accounting of the saga appears at Ivygate, a blog for grads of the Ivies, but suffice to say the guy's story is so bad good bad that Gawker and the Times are picking on the guy, too. Of course, you have to watch his video and you should also read the 2002 profile in a Yale newspaper, posted on the Gawker page.

Nothing like this happens at Macalester!
