The Agony of Defeat

I usually use my other blog to go on and on and on about nordic skiing, but the weekend saw an incident that seems ready-made for After School Snack: Czech ski jumper Jan Mazoch's horrific crash at a competition in Zakopane, Poland. Watch this clip to see what happens when a strong Polish wind meets a 145-pound ski jumper flying through the air at something like 60mph .

Mazoch was on track for a personal best at the competition before this happened. Now, he's in a coma and may not recover, though things are getting more positive.
