Lolcats R Funning

In another egregious example of my behind-the-timeness (I haven't seen any episodes of American Idol, much less any this year; I have the new Wilco disk but haven't listened to it yet), I had not heard of "lolcats" until today. But I found this Slate photo essay - as well-written as it is well-illustrated - freaking hilarious.
