Bush on the Iraq Explosives

Bush has finally acknowledged, in his usual halting, make-no-admissions way, the missing explosives in Iraq. His statement is bewilderingly idiotic: "This investigation is important and it's ongoing, and a political candidate who jumps to conclusions without knowing the facts is not a person you want as your commander in chief."

Jumping to conclusions like those regarding WMD? Or Hussein's links to al-Qaeda? Or Iraqis' reception of American troops as liberators? Or that the fall of Baghdad meant the end of the war? You are exactly right that such an unthinking, uncritical, uncurious person shouldn't be commander in chief. And in a few months, you won't be. Just don't destroy the world before then, okay?
