This just in: Bush is not a conservative.

Even the true conservatives - not the actually-radical neocons - are weighing in against Bush. Doug Bandow almost makes this liberal marvel at the way Bush has expanded the federal government and made it even more more interventionist and profligate. Almost. None of Bush's accomplishments have been socially constructive. To recycle some academic terms from the Cold War, it's not a welfare state Bush has built, it's a warfare state.
