Big Lies, Small Lies, &c.

This just in: the White House has been breaking the law by propagandizing its policies to the American public via Armstrong Williams and other lying liars. That's great and all, and I hope (but doubt) it will lead to some heads rolling, but it's a shame that this sort of break comes with respect to No Child Left Behind, which, while stupid and counterproductive, is hardly on par with bigger lies like the ones about WMD or terrorists in Iraq. But thank goodness: a recently passed bill, which W. himself signed into law, states that "no federal money may be used to produce or distribute a news story unless the government's role is openly acknowledged."
