An Emotional Post

I haven't been able to see much of ESPN/ABC coverage of the World Cup, but this Times World Cup blog screed against the networks' sportscasters is entertainingly harsh, accurate in its argument that foreign and/or non-English American coverage is superior, and resonant with NBC's horrible coverage of the Winter Olympics - which was essentially Entertainment Tonight in cold weather. Thanks to the internets, I can watch European coverage of soccer and skiing, and it's just a bare fact that the announcers are more direct, less given to flights of trival fancy, and above all more technically knowledgeable. Thank goodness MSM news here is so good, or there'd be nothing to watch at all.
