iPod > Beer

Beer has been around for about seven millennia, going back to Sumer; the iPod only five years, going back to the year HAL took over the Jupiter mission. Yet according to a market-research firm's survey, this year the upstart "iPod music player surpassed beer drinking as the most 'in' thing among undergraduate college students." This is undoubetdly true: I see far more Carleton students with white earbuds than with open cans of Bud. But what about sex, you focus groupies? Is the iPod more popular than sex?
