Flooooyd!

Okay, at the risk of driving away all our readers with Tour de France liveblogging...

Just one day after an epic collapse and fall out of the top 10 in the Tour, American Floyd Landis today attacked on the first big climb of Stage 17, rode alone over the some of the race's hardest mountains, won the stage (his first-ever stage win), and most importantly vaulted himself back into contention for the yellow jersey, thirty seconds back and in third place in the general classification.

We're talking a comeback on a par with the Red Sox in the 2004 ALCS - with the Tour now in game six. Game 7 occurs on Saturday, in the individual time trial which Landis should dominate. The minute-by-minute updates of Stage 17 at Velonews make for some gripping reading.
