Georgia on My Mind

Here's an article on the history of the popular font Georgia. Turns out that it, like its sans-serif sibling Verdana, was commissioned by Microsoft and designed in 1996 for on-screen legibility. (The article piqued my curiosity partly because I just had to pick a new typeface for my new personal blog, and chose, ironically coincidentally, Georgia.)
